LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM
The TWO SKIES INC life skills program is not a cure all for the prevailing obstacles that our young people are confronted with in this rapidly changing society. However, the topics that are covered in the Two Skies program clearly provide a foundation for the development of those essential skills that are necessary for the successful navigation of adolescent development. The primary focus of each topic is to improve the emotional and mental development of every adolescent or young adult that participates in the program. TWO SKIES INC, is committed to youth development and this program is designed to address a crucial need in a structured, caring and interactive format.
LIFE SKILLS FOUNDATION TOPICS
· Peer Pressure and the Identity of Self
· Managing Personal Feelings
· Improving Self Esteem
· Developing Effective Communication Skills
· The Importance of Self Care
· Drug and Alcohol Prevention
· Criminal Behavior and the Law
· Sex and Interpersonal Consequences
· Time Management
· Money Management
· Vocational Educational Planning
· Developing Emotional Intelligence
DELIVERY EXAMPLE
TARGET AREA:
Peer Pressure
GOAL:
- Develop the ability to identify peer pressure and make an informed choice
- Increase self awareness
- Develop a sense of self
OBJECTIVE:
- Discuss what peer pressure is both negative and positive
- Identify when peer pressure is taking place (give examples)
- Identify three feelings associated with peer pressure
- Identify strategies to avoid the effects of negative peer pressure (give examples)
INTERVENTION:
Lecture and Group Facilitation 1 to 1 ½ hr session depending on group size
EQUIPMENT:
Private Group Room and Chairs
This is a (6) week program (2) sessions per week which cover the (12) topics listed above.
After completion (full attendance) each student will be awarded a TWO SKIES INC Certificate of Participation.
Cost: $75.00 per student, minimum of (10) participants, for larger groups the cost is
